CPS goes back for round two at the Hotel Lawrence in downtown
Dallas mid March.  We can’t wait!  Since this will be our second time out there it means we will definitely be going dark.  Yup.  Bringing in the infra red cams.  According to employees – ever since we left it seems as if we stirred some things up.  LOTS of “activity” as been reported all over the hotel.

The Hotel Lawrence Dallas has redefined the notion of the personalized and intimate, European-Style Boutique hotel. With a history that dates back to 1925, and a current style that reflects a magnificent collaboration of today’s most imaginative and comfortable design elements and technology. The Hotel Lawrence is conveniently located downtown next to the central business district, adjacent to the Historic West End and Union Station and across the street from the George Allen Courthouse. We are also the closest hotel to the Dallas School Book Depository and Kennedy Sixth Floor Museum.

Old  Parkland Hospital: Dallas, TX

parkland1.jpg

CPS was getting excited about investigating the Old Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX before it was torn down.  Everything was looking good for us.  However, at the last minute the investigation was going to have to be closed before it was even opened.  The property was purchased and the new owners had other plans – and rightfully so.  Due to the heavy demolition and safety concerns (many homeless people have since moved in and seek shelter at night – especially in the winter months), the property owners have been overloaded with inquiries about paranormal investigations before the changes are made. The new management does not want the publicity or rumors to be out there that their property is haunted before they turn the hospital grounds into apartments. Many trespassers have already been prosecuted. www.carrolltonparanormalsociety.com

BEST HOTEL DEAL
Hotel Lawrence

VIBE: The lobby is warm and clubby, with wood paneling and wall sconces and the smell of chocolate chip cookies lingering in the air. The rooms are like the rooms at a New York City hotel-without the NYC price tag. The bathroom is the coolest part of the room, with its modern pedestal sink and sleek, superwide showerhead.

Newman Smith High School: Carrollton, TX

Internet rumors, witnesses, and students all seem to think that Newman Smith High School’s theatre in Carrollton, TX is haunted.  The story goes that a student named Abigail reportedly died while storing boxes under the stage. Now she is sometimes seen on the catwalk and plays with the gels on the spots. Students hit the stage with a hammer (3) times to keep her from interfering with a show, and sometimes, when reviewing a tape of a show, they can spot her standing in the set’s shadows. CPS decided to look into it…

You can check yearbooks, newspapers, death records, and media and find that there was no Abigail or tragedies under the stage.  The story must be fabricated.  Abigail would have made it into the papers and surely a memorial of some sort would have been erected in her name.  However, according to the witnesses we spoke to many say strange things happen to them while in the theatre. Noises can be heard. Some say a female voice can mimick your female voice from around the theatre and give tech commands when you didn’t give them. Is this because they know the “story” of Abigail or has the belief in Abigail and her story made her a reality in the theatre? Or could it be someone else?  They say all theatres are haunted.  No way a school district is going to let us come in there with our cameras and film an Internet TV show.  But, we wouldn’t mind waving our EMFs around a bit.  www.carrolltonparanormalsociety.com

DeWitt Perry Homestead: Carrollton, TX

Internet rumors say that the DeWitt Perry Homestead – home of one Carrollton, Texas’ founding fathers, is haunted.  Some say that the ones who lived here may be still around. On different nights, nearby railroad crossing lights would flash and no trains would be there.  CPS decided to look into it…

After several interviews of personnel – no one that works at the DeWitt Perry Museum has seen or heard anything strange or “paranormal.” One of the employees that was interviewd has been with the museum for the past SEVEN years and they have never heard/seen anything to make them think the historical marker is haunted. The employees think that the middle school kids that walk home each day might be freaked out by the house and are the ones who may have started this rumor. If you would like a tour you can go to their website for details. No flash photography in the house and only certain parts of the property are on the tour itself.  Even though we’d still like to see for ourselves since the property is way cool, why would the employees lie to us?  We consider this case closed. www.carrolltonparanormalsociety.com
